Keats Island, BC
How do you save a house?
To make way for a waterfront development, the simplest solution would have been to demolish the existing cabin. Instead, it was carefully relocated and restored, then given a bold, protective overhang to withstand coastal weather. Re-sited as a new family home on Keats Island—and without removing a single tree—the design embraces the landscape: the deck is built around a mature tree that rises through it, creating a sheltered “outdoor room” nestled within the canopy.
